The Royal Park Nature Playground, Melbourne, VIC, AUSTRALIA

The Royal Park Nature Playground, is a great and unique play area, in Royal Park, Melbourne that is an environmental adventure for all ages and all abilities. The inclusive park design allows the kids to get in touch with their natural surroundings, as they interact with the brand-new, specially made equipment.

The water play area is probably one of the standouts of the park with several little water spouts, a water pump and a tiny little river and wading pool that kids can stick their feet in.

Another part that will be a hit, especially with the slightly older kids is the wooden ropes course. The course is made for all climbers of all skill levels, with pieces like a small rope bridge and the giant spider web that they can climb on. Most of the ropes are fairly low to the ground, to prevent accidents, and the ground is covered in pine-bark. The park also has your usual swings and slides, and a big, open grass area, so there really is something for everyone at this playground.

Taluah, Newcastle, NSW, AUSTRALIA

Talulah is an upmarket restaurant, cafe and bar in the middle of Newcastle, that prides itself on its beautiful food and amazing service. Inside this cosy little eatery, you’ll feel at home with the hipsters surrounded by the eclectic collection of homewares and accessories, while you enjoy the latest offerings from the kitchen and bar.

The menu at Talulah is seasonal, so it tends to change a bit throughout the year to accommodate the conditions in Newcastle. This is also done to make sure they use the local produce that is available to them in the best way.

The Press Shop, Bowral, NSW AUSTRALIA

The Press Shop is a lovely little café in Bowral, New South Wales, known for their great coffee and excellent customer service. Opened in late 2016, this gorgeous little café is attached to a little stationery shop, that prints its own papers on its Bespoke Letterpress… hence, the name, The Press Shop. It’s also incidentally what my personal interior design dreams are made of.

The café menu is what we like to think of as full of elevated classics. The fruit yogurt for example, has honey and raspberries with the addition of a delicious walnut crumble and roasted figs on top. Overall, it’s a very well-considered and interesting menu. There are also several vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu, so even those with dietary requirements will still have a large selection of meals to choose from.

Mr Burton, Ashburton, VIC, AUSTRALIA

Mr Burton is located in the beautiful inner-city suburb of Ashburton, Melbourne, Victoria, which is where the name for the café comes from. The café is in a prime position, right on the main street of the suburb, and there is plenty of parking in the area, as well as a large carpark just down the road from the premises.

The café has a great menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the restaurant prides itself on using ingredients sourced from local businesses and farmers. The menu accommodates many different diets and food preferences, so there is really something for everyone. They even have a few vegetarian options for friends who doesn’t eat meat or seafood.

Mr Burton offers a great kids menu that has many of your favourite dishes fit for your little prince or princess. The kids menu offers your usual pancakes, eggs and toast, and a Vegemite and cheese toastie, and then fish, nuggets or burgers with chips for lunch but the kids will love them all just the same. There is also a designated kids area on the premises, so you can sit back and watch the kids play, while you indulge in a coffee and a freshly made pastry.

Bistro C, Noosa, QLD, AUSTRALIA

Bistro C is an upmarket restaurant in beautiful Noosa which serves incredible food, with even better service. The food is almost too good looking to eat, but this menu is way too good to miss.

Looking out over the beach, there are options for outdoor and indoor dinning, so you can watch the waves crash onto the beach no matter the weather, all from the comfort of your table.

Bistro C does have a kids menu, with all the usual kids meals such as spaghetti bolognese, fish and chips, and fried rice. However, the highlight of the kids menu is the separate menu for kids mocktails for $6 each, which will go down an absolute treat with the little ones.
